Born in Angola and raised in Germany by a German father and a Portuguese mother, the artist’s life and work are shaped by cultural diversity, languages, and a multicultural environment. After studying German and English Literature in Coimbra/Portugal, she pursued a professional path in Portugal as a teacher and later as a translator in a law firm. This sustained engagement with language and cultures shaped her visual practice.
The artist’s passion for painting emerged during adolescence and remained a constant presence throughout her life, developing alongside her academic and professional career. Painting functions as a parallel language — one that allows for intuition, ambiguity, and emotional resonance that reach beyond the limits of words.
Throughout the works presented here, subtle yet persistent references reveal the artist’s central concerns: the destruction of nature and species, and the threats to the world order. These themes surface not as illustrations, but as underlying tensions, inviting reflection on the fragilities of — and the responsibilities for — a rapidly changing world.
